Subject tree

Hi everybody, This posting will probably not increase my popularity..... I apologize in advance! :) I would like to suggest to re-organize the subject tree according to MSC (www.ams.org/msc), with a layer above the first two digits (which is implicit in MSC anyway). Reasons: * Everybody knows MSC, thus the subject tree would be more easy to browse for the occasional garden visitor. * This would make the slant towards discrete math (now: 3 out of 10 top level categories) less obvious and encourage non-discrete people to submit their problems. General Topology topic

I asked to add General Topology topic more that 4 weeks ago. Why it (and my other suggestions) isn't there yet?!

Re: Please improve presentation!

I have submitted my 12 open problems to Open Problem Garden (the problems are from the manuscripts of my research). rs has commented on each of the 12 problems the same:
> Please, provide
> 1) definitions of the used concepts (to make the statement self-contained)
> 2) motivation (why this is important, examples, ...)
> At the present state, this text is unfortunately not very useful for someone not acquainted with your manuscripts.

Comments RSS Feed?

Can we have "Comments" and/or "Recent Activity" RSS feeds for the site? (Or if we already have them, can somebody please point them out to me?) Thanks!

Should by default show only open problems

The site should by default show only open problems and have a button (or a link) "Show closed problems" which would show all (open and closed) problems.

Funcoids and Reloids subtopic?

Hi, I do a research which I call Algebraic General Topology. It can be also called "The theory of funcoids and reloids". Due my research arisen more that 12 open problems (which I have not yet solved). I have submitted these 12 problems to Open Problem Garden under the area "Topology". First, should be topic "General Topology" under "Topology" where the problems should be moved. Second, I may suggest to create "Funcoids and reloids" subtopic specifically for my 12 problems as they are too many. 1 comment

Trouble with ~ in \href links

I encountered a strange behavior with "~" symbol in the \href links. Please take a look at Erdos et al. paper in the bibliography of http://garden.irmacs.sfu.ca/?q=op/divisibility_of_central_binomial_coefficients When I click on this paper link, "~" is substituted with "%C2%A0", resulting in a wrong url. If I replace "~" with "%7E", the link does not work either with even worse corruption of the whole bibliography. So, what is a proper way to specify "~" in the \href links? Thanks, Max P.S. The forum displays this message incorrectly. ;(((
